If you haven’t already, meet Barbara and Kenny Thomson, two of our founding season members, and founders of the 1st Regiment Supporters Club, one that has stuck with the team every step of the way. They’ve been part of the journey since the very beginning and remain a cornerstone of the Free Jacks community; always advocating for grassroots rugby in New England, and sharing the game with others that means so much to them.

Kenny, who grew up playing rugby, has experienced firsthand what makes the game so special. Together, he and Barbara have carried that passion forward by giving back to the game that has given them so much. Traveling to every away match, introducing new fans to the sport, and building a supporter group that has become the glue of the Free Jacks community. For years their commitment to the team has become evident, but they don’t stop there.

For each home match, Kenny and Barb donate to the Free Jacks Foundation for every successful conversion kick. Through the years, their generosity has helped extend the team’s impact far beyond the field.

Over time, they have contributed to more than 200 school visits and Rugby-in-a-Bag programs, putting a rugby ball into thousands of children’s hands for the very first time and giving young athletes across the region the chance to discover the game.

What makes their contribution so special is not just the scale, but the lasting influence. Every clinic, every school visit, every child picking up a rugby ball is part of the legacy Barbara and Kenny have helped build.
