For athletes selected following the fall tracking days throughout New England, the New England Free Jacks are holding three training sessions on December 5th 12th and 19th for a preliminary Junior Jacks training group (Under 16 and Under 18 levels).Â
The sessions will be held by Free Jacks Academy coaches from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM with an option to sign up for specialized skill top ups from 10:15 – 11:00 AM.Â
Participants can expect to continue to develop their core technical competencies and tactical understanding of the game at a deeper level. Participants will learn of the ‘Free Jacks Way’ in respect to execution, and behaviors/standards expected of those involved at the New England representative level. Participants will begin to train as a ‘squad’ with intention to refine playing groups in 2021 and beyond.
These events will be held with COVID safety as the priority. Key practices in this respect will include strictly monitored pre-session screening, mandatory masks, non-contact training, and modified session make-ups to ensure participant safety.
To qualify as an Under 18 or 16 player, the player must be 17/15 or younger respectively on January 1 of the calendar year. For participants who haven’t yet attended a tracking day, you can join the watchlist in the event there are spaces available for these sessions here:Â
