QUINCY, MA – The New England Free Jacks (Major League Rugby) today announced a charity partnership with Operation Homefront ahead of our Salute to Service Match this Sunday. Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive in the communities they’ve worked so hard to protect. The Free Jacks will support Operation Homefront initiatives to provide support to New England military families, including the Back-to-School Brigade with donations for eligible dependents.
“The New England Free Jacks are honored to work alongside Operation Homefront. Our team’s values of strong community engagement and acts of service tie in seamlessly with those of Operation Homefront,” said Alex Magleby, Free Jacks Co-Founder and CEO.
The Free Jacks will be assisting in their “Back-to-School Brigade.” Back-to-School Brigade is Operation Homefront’s annual nationwide school supply collection campaign. Since the program began, Operation Homefront has distributed over 465,000 backpacks to military dependents in need. Free Jacks community can join the cause by donating in need items.
“We are proud to have donated 50 backpacks to the “Back to School Brigade,” said Magleby. “Whether it be on a rugby pitch or in life, our team, along with the greater New England area, will always lend a hand when needed.”
The New England Free Jacks will be hosting a supply drive for “Back to School Brigade,” at the remaining home matches this season (05/29, 06/03, and future home playoff matches). Donations will also be accepted at the Free Jacks HQ in the lobby of 1400 Hancock st. Quincy of the items listed below.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of the New England Free Jacks as we approach our annual Back-to-School Brigade program this year,” said Joe O’Hara, Northeast Area Director of Operation Homefront. “Our military families have tight budgets and providing these backpacks full of school supplies allows them to eliminate one financial burden so they can allocate their funds to other critical needs.”
We know our Free Jacks fans will step up to help Operation Homefront.
