Faith Cronin Honored as 2025 Impact Free Jack Honoree

Faith Cronin (née Simon) is an Avon and Brockton native and current Weymouth resident who has dedicated herself to public service. From an early age she was volunteering in her communities of Brockton and Avon. When she graduated from Stonehill College, she took on a role as the Constituent Services director for a state lawmaker serving Brockton and Easton. During the pandemic Faith was the point person for many hundreds of requests to her office from community members in desperate need of help.

From a small business owner in need of a PPP loan or else facing closure of their longtime family business, to a father who didn’t know how he’d pay for Christmas dinner (let alone presents for his kids) because of misfiled paperwork, and seniors who needed help finding safe ways to their medical appointments to treat life threatening conditions, Faith answered their calls for help. The time that Faith put into that job weekly in 2020 and 2021 was well beyond the 40 hours she was paid for.

She carried every case and every need from a constituent with her until the challenge they faced was resolved. Faith did amazing things like establishing a PPE distribution network in Brockton senior housing and going to battle for people she barely knew as they worked to navigate big complex government bureaucracy.

Community facing workers like Faith didn’t get enough recognition for the work they did, and the incredibly deep and positive impact they had on their communities.

When asked about her influential work during the pandemic, one of Faith’s family members recalls that “To this day, if you ask Faith she’ll brush off or downplay the impact she had,” But her efforts to keep her communities flourishing during hard times left a lasting impact.

“In Brockton and Easton specifically there are numerous small businesses open because of her, people whose family got fed because she answered their call, and seniors alive because of the extra hours she put in on weekends and holidays,” says Tim Cronin, her husband.

After the pandemic settled down, Faith wanted to explore other options to give back. Inspired by personal convictions and having seen the impact cancer has on her family, like so many others, she sought opportunities at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to see how she could lend her skills. She now works as the Operations Administrative Manager to the Chief Operating Officer of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

In this role Faith is coordinating a plethora of cross-organizational projects, helping support operational leaders in strategic planning, and managing the administrative team within the COOs office She also has led multiple special projects, from PPE distribution to supporting patient care during emergency situations. Outside of her role at Dana-Farber, Faith also ran the BAA Half Marathon, using it as an opportunity to raise funds for breakthrough cancer research and contributing to Dana-Farber’s mission in any way that she can.

Knowing her and the skills she has as well as the passion she has for the communities of the South Shore and Greater Boston, Faith looks forward to continuing to support organizations and local programs that will let her give back in some other incredible way. Faith’s story has the power to inspire her fellow community members and strangers alike to give back to neighbors during trying times.
