League Wide 2025 Schedule Announcement

The New England Free Jacks are thrilled to unveil the 2025 Major League Rugby schedule, promising a season packed with electrifying matchups, intense rivalries, and unforgettable moments. With an exciting mix of home and away games, the Free Jacks are aiming to defend their title and continue their dominance as the MLR’s premier team.

Season Five – Set To Be Another History Making Year

Kicking things off with their legendary St. Patrick’s Day weekend home opener, the Free Jacks are bringing the excitement all season long as Veterans Memorial Stadium is set to host all five of the MLR top teams from last season, including a historic first-ever visit from west coast rivals, the San Diego Legion, in a clash that’s sure to ignite Fort Quincy. A mix of Saturday and Sunday afternoon home fixtures are augmented by the Free Jacks hosting a midweek night game under the lights for the first time ever, adding an electrifying new dimension to the Free Jacks experience.

Second Half at Home

The full season begins the week after the Super Bowl with a trip to the fast improving Rugby Club Los Angeles with five of the first six Free Jacks’ matches on the road. The latter half of the schedule is a treat for fans, with the bulk of the Free Jacks’ home games falling in the later months of spring and early summer. Fort Quincy will come alive with rugby action, friends, cold beer, and live music, making each match unforgettable. 

Afternoon parties, a festive atmosphere, and top-tier rugby make this stretch of games the perfect way to kick off the summer while cheering on the Free Jacks toward the playoffs.

A Historic First: Mid-Week Rugby Under the Lights

History will be made on Tuesday, April 22, when Veterans Memorial Stadium hosts its first-ever midweek evening game against Rugby LA. This Tuesday match comes as part of a league-wide initiative to pack the season between the end of the NFL season and the start of the International Rugby Test Match window. While the unconventional scheduling comes with a set of new challenges, the event promises to bring a fresh flavor to the season, with fans gearing up for a unique under-the-lights experience.

Round 1 | Sunday, February 16 | Away vs. Rugby LA
The Free Jacks kick off their 2025 season with an electrifying opener against Rugby LA, a team entering its sophomore year in Major League Rugby. The Free Jacks head to SeatGeek Stadium to take on the Chicago Hounds. Despite their underdog status, Chicago has proven their physical playstyle can rattle even the top teams. With memories of the Free Jacks’ narrow 23-17 victory in the 2024 Eastern Conference Final fresh in their minds, the Hounds will be determined to flip the script on their home turf.

Round 4 | Saturday, March 8 | Away vs. Seattle Seawolves
At Starfire Sports Complex, the Free Jacks reignite their rivalry with the Seattle Seawolves. Known for their staunch defense and playoff pedigree, Seattle will pose a formidable challenge. But with a 2024 road victory in hand, New England is poised to make another statement in this marquee matchup.

Round 5 | Saturday, March 15 | Home vs. NOLA Gold

Round 7 | Saturday, March 29 | Away vs. Utah Warriors
The high-altitude Zions Bank Stadium is the setting for a test of endurance and tactics as the Free Jacks take on the Utah Warriors. Known for their powerful forward pack, Utah will challenge New England’s speed and adaptability in a contest where strategy is key.

Round 8 | Sunday, April 6 | Home vs. Miami Sharks
On April 6th, 2024 the Miami Sharks made their first trip to Fort Quincy, after a tough match the Sharks headed back to Miami fin first. Exactly one year after their inaugural visit to Quincy, the Miami Sharks return, looking to avenge their 25-3 loss. Following a promising debut season, the Sharks are hungry for revenge, but the Free Jacks aim to defend the fort once more.

Round 9 | Saturday, April 12 | Home vs. San Diego Legion
In a highly anticipated matchup, San Diego Legion makes its first trip to Quincy. After memorable clashes, including the 2023 Championship Final, the Free Jacks are ready to Introduce the Legion to Fort Quincy’s Home Crowd, with hopes of sending them back to the beach with another L in the Free Jacks Column.

Round 10 | Friday, April 18 | Away vs. Anthem Rugby Carolina
Returning to North Carolina, the Free Jacks face a revamped Anthem Rugby Carolina team. With former Free Jacks stars Mitch Wilson and Junior Gaffa now on Anthem’s roster, this game promises plenty of familiar faces and fierce competition.

Round 11 | Tuesday, April 22 | Home vs. Rugby LA
History will be made at Veterans Memorial Stadium as the Free Jacks host their first-ever midweek evening game. Under the lights, Rugby Los Angeles will take the field in what promises to be a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, complete with music, energy, and unmatched fan excitement.

Round 12 | Sunday, May 4 | Home vs. Houston Sabercats
The Free Jacks face a tough Houston SaberCats side renowned for their physicality and skillful backs. With past struggles in New England, Houston will be eager to prove themselves, but the Free Jacks are prepared to continue their home dominance.

Round 13 | Saturday, May 10 | Home vs. Chicago Hounds
A rematch with Chicago provides the Free Jacks an opportunity to refine their tactics and reinforce their position, hopefully atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Round 14 | Saturday, May 17 | Away vs. Miami Sharks
