Free Jacks Announce Season-Ending Injury for Jayson Potroz
The New England Free Jacks have confirmed that star flyhalf Jayson Potroz sustained a season-ending knee injury during last weekend’s match against the Seattle Seawolves.
“We are incredibly grateful for everything Jayson has given to this team over the past three seasons,” the team said in a statement. “We’re heartbroken for him, his partner Nicola, and their daughter Mila—especially after witnessing the hard work and determination he showed coming back from a serious hamstring injury earlier this year.
“Jayson is deeply loved by this team and our entire community. We encourage fans to show their appreciation and support when they see him at the playoffs.”
Potroz is scheduled to undergo surgery in the near future. His recovery timeline and next steps remain uncertain at this time. Potroz will move into a supporting role helping the team prepare for the upcoming playoffs.
