Match Preview:

The Free Jacks sit on top of the Eastern Conference with a record of 7-2, with DC, New York, and Atlanta all giving chase standing at 4-5 each. With a perfect in-conference record so far, New England will look to add another win to the column before heading off to their bye week.

Coming off of a comeback in the second half against Atlanta last Saturday, the Free Jacks will look to maintain their perfect home record in Quincy this season in what is always a passionate rivalry match against the New York Ironworkers.

In the tight five, Mills Sanerivi will be coming in for Andrew Quattrin and Semisi Paea starts at lock replacing Jesse Parete, while the back-row remains unchanged from last week’s encounter with Atlanta. In the backline, halfback Kieran McClea gets his second start of the season, while Ben LeSage and Reece Macdonald are back in the 13 and 15 jerseys respectively. Prop Conor Young will come off the bench for the second time this season, as well as Canadian center/wing Isaac Olson who played a prominent role against Toronto.

The Free Jacks will look to beat Rugby New York for the second time this season in what looks to be a fiery and exciting matchup in Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Scouting

Rugby New York currently sits third in the Eastern Conference, right behind Old Glory DC, with a record of 4-5. They are coming off a loss at home against the Houston Sabercats 27-34.

Look for Rugby New York to rely heavily on their contestable kicking game and try to get the ball to their powerful runners while in the opposition’s territory.

Dylan Fawsitt leads this team from the hooker position, while Brad Tucker and Kara Pryor bring the energy from the back-row. In the backs, New Zealander Tei Walden brings experience and ball-playing ability, and Canadian Andrew Coe adds excellent finishing ability on the wing.
