The Free Jacks are excited to welcome USA Eagle, back row forward, Ben Landry, to the playing roster for the remainder of the 2020 season of Major League Rugby.
The 6’6 265lb versatile back rower has quickly established himself as one of the most physically dominant players across North America.
Ben was a standout across a variety of sports at Pewaukee High School in Wisconsin and during his college years at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Ben excelled in American football, basketball, and rugby, ultimately making the decision to focus on rugby in college.
Landry earned All American honors during his collegiate years and shortly after debuted for the USA Rugby U20’s, Men’s XV Selects and the Men’s National Team in 2016. Eagle no. 471, Ben has since accumulated over 20 caps, having most recently been a mainstay in the team at the Pacific Nation’s Cup and the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Recognized for his impressive display across the World Cup, Ben was also selected for the Barbarians in November 2019 against Brazil, one of only three American players to achieve the feat.
Ben is no stranger to the league having played for the Glendale Raptors (now Colorado Raptors) in 2018 before shifting to Championship powerhouse Ealing in 2019. Ben also had stints with two NFL franchises.
Ben will no doubt be an amazing addition to the New England Free Jacks and is excited to make an impact with the Free Jacks in the coming matches.
Lets Ride.
