QUINCY, MA – The New England Free Jacks are incredibly excited to announce the addition of their Official Hard Cider Partner, Stormalong Cider. Free Jacks fans from all over New England will be able to enjoy some of Stormalong’s Ciders at each Free Jacks match festival and fan fest at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
“This partnership hits home for me more than any of our others,” said Free Jacks Director of Corporate Partnership, Tim Torigian. “Stormalong is based in my hometown and their store is located less than a mile from where I grew up. Cider is a major part of Sherborn’s history that I’m excited to share with rugby fans everywhere.”
Stormalong Cider is committed to quality and taste and has always set out to make delicious cider with the best locally sourced whole apples and ingredients. A great amount of time and consideration goes into each blend to create the greatest drinking experience for each consumer. Stormalong is a sensational addition to the Free Jacks offerings and aligns perfectly with one of rugby’s core values, respect, whether it be for one another on the pitch or in their case, for the apples they use in their ciders.
“Rugby and cider share a lot of history and ties to Europe, with both originating in England and gaining popularity in America,” said Shannon Edgar, founder of Stormalong Cider. “In the United States, a cider ‘renaissance’ kicked off in 2012 and has grown steadily ever since. It seems American Rugby has followed a similar path and timeline relative to sports in the United States, so when the opportunity to partner with the New England Free Jacks came our way it was a no brainer. Both cider and rugby have a passionate group of fans that are growing in numbers every year and we’re excited to bring these fans together through this partnership.”
The New England-based professional rugby team will play its home opener at their new home venue, Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy, Massachusetts, on March 12th against the Toronto Arrows in a Saint Patrick’s Day Festival. The Free Jacks will host 8 home matches through the 2022 season and fans can purchase Stormalong Cider at any of the bars located throughout the stadium.
