The New England Free Jacks are holding their Second Annual Operation Sock Drop drive on March 9th when the Free Jacks take on Old Glory DC in their 2024 Home Opener at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy, MA. 

We’re calling on the Free Jacks faithful to show their support by donating packs of new and unused socks to two local charities. All you have to do is drop your packs of socks off with a Free Jacks team member when you enter the stadium and you will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a Free Jacks jersey signed by the team!

Donations will be split between the following local charities supporting individuals and families threatened by homelessness. Father Bill’s & MainSpring operate the Yawkey Housing Resource Center; a housing resource center based in Quincy that was recently renovated in October and continues to be a source of hope for our struggling neighbors. Founded in 1987, Friends of Boston’s Homeless continues to bridge the gap between people struggling on the streets to the basic services that lead in the direction of permanent housing. 

Socks are the #1 most requested item at shelters across the country and the Free Jacks want to build on the success of 1,654 pairs of socks donated in last year’s Operation Sock Drop by contributing even more in 2024! We ask you to embrace the essence of a Free Jack; “an empowered individual who strives for greatness, yet also unites a common people under an unbreakable bond.”

OPERATION SOCK DROP 2024 FAQ:

What can I donate?
Free Jacks are asking our fans to donate socks in support of two local charities. The socks must be new, unworn, and in the original packaging. All socks are gratefully accepted. (male, female and genderless socks)   

Do they have to be Free Jacks Socks?
No, you can donate any socks, any brand, any size, please make sure they are new, unworn, and in the original packaging. 

How do I enter to win the signed jersey?
Each pair of socks donated will be your ticket into the Signed Jersey Raffle. There is no limit to how many pairs of socks you can donate. 

When does the sock drop take place?
At the Free Jacks Home Opener on March 9th at Veterans Memorial Stadium upon your entry.

Where do I drop the socks? 
Socks can be dropped upon entry to the stadium, staff will be there to receive your donation, take your name, and record how many socks you have donated.

When is the winner announced?
The winner of the signed jersey will be announced before the end of the Free Jacks Festival.
