Round 13 Roster & Match Preview

New England Free Jacks vs. Chicago Hounds:
Free Jacks’ are on a 6 game win streak

The Free Jacks are on fire and at home again this Saturday, May 10, for their 11th regular season matchup against the Chicago Hounds.  With a six-game win streak under their belts, the Free Jacks are looking to make up for their previous performance in round three when they last encountered the Hounds.

Head coach Ryan Martin explained that the team has had this match noted on the calendar for some time now and are eager to continue their remarkable winning streak and get one step closer to a third consecutive championship run.

“The squad is highly motivated to put out a performance our supporters & families will be proud of,” Martin said.

As part of this Saturday’s exciting match between the New England Free Jacks and the Chicago Hounds, there will be a special celebration of Quincy’s 400th anniversary. For the second consecutive year, Broad Meadows Middle School students have lent their artistic talents to the Free Jacks by creating hand-drawn portraits of the team’s players. These portraits will be featured on the team’s roster for the game and displayed on the video board as players enter the field. This collaboration between the Free Jacks and the local school brings an additional layer of community connection to the event, adding a personal touch to the game. In celebration of Quincy’s rich history, the Free Jacks are proud to highlight the work of these young artists as part of their game-day experience.

This will be an extra special festival theme for players and fans alike, especially because Quincy is home to the Free Jack’s beloved Veterans Memorial Stadium. Fans will be able to enjoy live music, cold beer, delicious food, and great rugby. What better way to celebrate?

In addition to the festivities, the Free Jacks will also be suiting up in a special edition Quincy 400 City kit to commemorate the birth of the city they call home.

Not only will the Free Jacks be playing in style, they’ll be playing with style. Chicago has proved themselves as a tough opponent in the past, playing hard and coming out on top, but the Free Jacks have been proving that they are two-time champions for a reason.

The Hounds and the Free Jacks are separated by only two points for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, so this game will determine who comes out on top.

The game will be nothing short of exciting, from the Quincy Day festivities to the infamous East Coast rivalry between New England and Chicago. Saturday’s game is not to be missed.

Key Players to Watch

As always, players like Paula Balekana, who has been leading the charge with impressive performances, including a standout effort against the Houston SaberCats, will be pivotal for the Free Jacks. Balekana is averaging 8.3 meters per carry and has been a key figure in the team’s attack.

For Chicago, lock Luke White has been a dominant force in the scrum and the loose, and his efforts will be crucial as the Hounds look to extend their winning streak.

The game will kick off at 4pm, Saturday, May 10, with the Quincy Day festivities beginning at 2pm. If you are unable to attend the game in person, it is always available to watch live on ESPN+ at 4pm EST.
