After stepping away from the Free Jacks in 2024 to focus on his studies and play rugby back in New Zealand with Bay of Plenty, Joe is ready to pick up where he left off in New England. Coming back to Boston didn’t happen by chance. Boston is the city where Johnston’s mother, Ginny, grew up. Back in 2021 a move to MLR offered the kiwi the opportunity to not only play rugby but reconnect with family.
