The Free Jacks are thrilled to welcome the newest addition to New England’s already powerful backline, Jack Reeves. At 5’11”, 194lbs, the young center brings plenty of determination and potential at only 21 years old.
Full of energy for the new chapter ahead, Reeves is ecstatic and ready to get to work in the new league. “Can’t wait to get started with this exciting group,” Reeves exclaims. “Looking forward to meeting the lads and staff to see what we can achieve in the upcoming season.”
Reeves first started playing rugby at Dursley RFC at the age of five. As he grew older the young gun made his mark playing for England U20s before re-signing with Gloucester. Throughout the past few years the experience Reeves has been surrounded by has been second to none. With the veterans he has played alongside with in Gloucester, the Englishman is entering the MLR a very refined and skillful player for the New England backline.
“We are delighted to have Jack join us on loan from Gloucester for the 2022 and 2023 MLR seasons,” mentioned Free Jacks Performance Director, Tom Kindley. “It is a great outcome for both parties whereby Jack gains valuable experience within another competition, and Gloucester retain rights to a talented homegrown player to where he can rejoin the premiership outfit for the other half of the year getting year round development.”
“Jack is a physical, hard working midfielder with huge upside at only 21 years of age. The England age grade product will reunite with the familiar face of Harry Barlow in New England, the Harlequins/Gloucester duo formerly lined up in the centers for England U20s against Wales in 2019.”
“Jack will thicken up our backline heading into the 2022 season and we aim to in turn, add strings to his bow and ensure that Gloucester will receive a better player as a result of his time here at the end of the loan period.”
Although here for a brief period of time, the Gloucester back is ready to make a splash in the MLR. Don’t be surprised to see some big plays from the English center in Veterans Memorial.
