Free Jacks Fans: Taking Passion on the Road

A celebration of the Free Jacks Traveling Fans

Yesterday (November 20th), the release of the 2025 MLR schedule sent waves of excitement through rugby communities. For passionate fans, it signals the start of planning next year’s rugby adventures: securing tickets, mapping out road trips, booking flights, and dreaming of unforgettable matchday moments.

When it comes to dedicated passionate supporters, the New England Free Jacks fans are second to none. Jack’s fans consistently go the extra mile (sometimes thousands of miles) to back the team wherever they play. Whether it’s flying across the country for a championship or making the drive to fill rival stadiums with cheers, Free Jacks fans are the heartbeat of our success. Today, we honor these extraordinary individuals who transform every away game into a home-field advantage.

United by Passion: Free Jacks Fans on the Road

For many fans, following the Free Jacks isn’t just about attending games; it’s about being part of something larger. Kenny Thomson, who has traveled over 100,000 miles to support the Free Jacks, shared, “If you love games at Fort Quincy, you will really love going to away games. The bond with other fans is unbeatable.” This sense of community drives fans to go the distance, literally, to rally behind our team.

Chrissy Pierson, who has traveled nearly 4,000 miles, perfectly captured this spirit, recalling her favorite away game in D.C. “We out-cheered the home team!” For Chrissy, the away games bring out a special energy in Free Jacks fans, a contagious enthusiasm that inspires everyone around them.

A Sense of Belonging Across Borders

For some fans, away games aren’t just an option, they’re the norm. Garry deWitt noted, “They are all away games for me,” highlighting the lengths fans are willing to go to feel part of the Free Jacks family, regardless of location. With each chant, cheer, and wave of a banner, these fans create an atmosphere that turns heads and fills stadiums.

John Elsnau shared the excitement of meeting other fans and creating lifelong memories. “If you haven’t traveled to an away game, you’re missing out,” he said, adding that the experience of being surrounded by like-minded Free Jacks supporters is truly unparalleled.

Memorable Moments and Milestones

Ask any Free Jacks fan about their favorite game, and you’ll hear stories that embody both the highs and the unforgettable experiences of being on the road. From the San Diego championship to thrilling matches against Old Glory, fans like Tim Crowley & Cappy Burke cherish the memories and friendships forged during these moments. Tim emphasized the joy of “meeting up with other fans both pre- and post-game,” illustrating the community spirit that’s central to the Free Jacks experience.
