Free Jacks’ Andrew Quattrin and Kyle Ciquera to Cut Their Iconic Mullets for Charity
The front row friends will be donating their hair to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where it will be used to create wigs for children suffering from hair loss. In addition to donating their hair, Quattrin and Ciquera are launching a fundraiser to support Marisa’s Mission, a Massachusetts-based charity dedicated to alleviating the financial burdens on cancer patients and their families.
In a heartfelt statement, the players shared their motivation and gratitude:
“Hello everyone! The time has come, Eagle and I will be cutting our mullets and donating our hair to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Our hair will go towards helping build wigs for children with hair loss. We would also like to host a fundraiser for a very impactful charity in our community that serves all of Massachusetts, Marisa’s Mission. Marisa’s Mission focuses on helping cancer patients and their families by reducing financial stress to support their health outcomes. For those that wish to donate, regardless of the amount, will be entered to win a Team signed Free Jacks jersey or a signed Canada Test Match jersey. We can’t thank our fans enough for the support you give us all season as well as our off-field initiatives, this is what makes us the franchise we are! Thank you in advance for your support, team!”
Marisa’s Mission
Marisa’s Mission is a charity close to the hearts of many in Massachusetts. The organization is named in honor of Marisa Federico, a Braintree native and Assumption College graduate, who left an indelible mark on her community. Marisa was known for her commitment to her family, her work as the Director of National Sales at the Boston Convention Marketing Center, and her vibrant personality.
In 2013, Marisa was diagnosed with stage IV, triple-positive breast cancer at the age of 35. Despite the severity of her illness, she continued to live with enthusiasm and grace, becoming an inspiration to many. Marisa’s strength and optimism throughout her battle were remarkable, and even after her passing in 2016, her legacy lives on through Marisa’s Mission. The organization continues to support families affected by cancer, helping to ease their financial stress and allowing them to focus on their health and loved ones.
how to donate
Fans and supporters are encouraged to participate in the fundraiser. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and provide a chance to win exclusive memorabilia, including a team-signed Free Jacks jersey or a signed Canada Test Match jersey.
